Working as the Chief Human Resources Officer for RBC, ZabeenHirji’s approach to promoting people and diversity embraces the company philosophy that diversity is the right and smart thing to do. She has worked tirelessly to integrate diversity into the talent development and management processes. Spearheading multiple efforts to develop many dimensions of diversity, Zabeen is a driving force behind RBC’s culture of diversity and inclusion, integrating diversity into RBC’s talent management and leadership practices. One example of this is the implementation of staffing goals to increase the representation of women and visible minorities in senior manager and executive roles and to proactively develop talent to achieve these goals.
Her successful efforts to drive change contributed to RBC’s selection as a 2010 Catalyst Award winner. Winning this award was the result of continued progress over 2005 to 2009 in advancing talent management development, developing a presence in diverse markets, and exercising corporate leadership in the implementation of successful diverse strategies for women and visible minorities.
